The sequel to Torment, starring Katherine Isabelle.
Let me begin by saying this: this movie might do the best job of creating empathy for the main character I have ever seen, both deeply and quickly. Within ten minutes, you care about the main character, and for good reason.
Furthermore, the lead, Alysa King #AlysaKing kills it as the lead! She totally owned that character. Sadly, the older cast members delivered like a school play, but she was excellent. Even the little kids gave decent performances.
There were some cinematography issues, the result of a slightly too small budget, I am sure, but this was a good horror flick! I think that it was just as good as its predecessor, which is saying a lot since it stars my favorite Scream Queen. I recommend both Torment and Tormented to horror fans.
Since discovering the Universal monsters, particularly The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Phantom of the Opera, I have been hooked on horror films. Now, I try to watch all of them I can find. There are so many out there, and some of them really embrace the art of the medium. Further, there are a lot of films that have great elements or have historical significance that get brushed under the rug for various reasons. What is worse is when a great film has an unpopular name attached to it.
I try to give every movie a fair chance--maybe even an unfair chance, such as when I hate a director's previous works but continue watching their every effort. A thing somewhat related is when I give a movie that I disliked a second chance and find a lot that I had missed.
My mind can be changed, so I encourage discussion.
