Horror/romance was the genre, which almost turned me away, but I am glad I gave it a shot! First of all, the cast for such an unknown movie is ridiculous! The writing, music, and acting were very good. This movie would rank up there with Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure but with a much creepier spin. I won’t give anything away, but I implore you, this one is worth watching.
Since discovering the Universal monsters, particularly The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Phantom of the Opera, I have been hooked on horror films. Now, I try to watch all of them I can find. There are so many out there, and some of them really embrace the art of the medium. Further, there are a lot of films that have great elements or have historical significance that get brushed under the rug for various reasons. What is worse is when a great film has an unpopular name attached to it.
I try to give every movie a fair chance--maybe even an unfair chance, such as when I hate a director's previous works but continue watching their every effort. A thing somewhat related is when I give a movie that I disliked a second chance and find a lot that I had missed.
My mind can be changed, so I encourage discussion.
