I discovered this movie on a list called ‘Movies so scary that audiences passed out.’
Here you go in three sentences:

It could have been the sequel to Jeff Goldblum’s The Fly.
The movie wasn’t particularly good, but you know it was not by Eli Roth because it’s better than anything he could make.
I did not pass out or come close to it, although the fingernail scene was tough to watch…

Since discovering the Universal monsters, particularly The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Phantom of the Opera, I have been hooked on horror films. Now, I try to watch all of them I can find. There are so many out there, and some of them really embrace the art of the medium. Further, there are a lot of films that have great elements or have historical significance that get brushed under the rug for various reasons. What is worse is when a great film has an unpopular name attached to it. I try to give every movie a fair chance--maybe even an unfair chance, such as when I hate a director's previous works but continue watching their every effort. A thing somewhat related is when I give a movie that I disliked a second chance and find a lot that I had missed. My mind can be changed, so I encourage discussion.
